Some third party add-ons can cause a miserable performance running Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7. On my machine the Java Plug-In SSV helper caused a delay of several seconds before a web page was displayed. I disabled the add-on and everything was again speedy and smooth. If you experience a slow performance of IE8 disable one add-on after another to find out which add-on makes your day miserable (in the menubar select: tools-manage add-ons). I wonder if Microsoft can integrate a function checking on add-ons which suck the life out of IE 8 and might cause a bad reputation for this great browser.

I have heard ie8 is can be slow and have heard a few complaints about it. I haven't upgrade to it yet because of this. I still use ie7 for now. One of these days I'll take the plunge and check it out. Thanks for the tip. When I upgrade and if it gets slow I'll remember to try this.
