Here’s a quick tip for string cleaning in SQL. Let’s say you have a string, perhaps one being imported from another data source, and you want to trim all the leading and/or trailing non-alphanumeric characters. For example, you may have the input string: ',,, foo bar $$$' Which needs to be cleaned before inserting into the database.
