My previous post summarised the experience I took away from Remix 09, but that was just me. Microsoft are soon to be releasing the presentation videos, and here is what I believe to be the best of what Remix 09 has to offer:
Keynote – Peter Williams and his brain-wave Wii-style remote. This is certainly the future of computing, but the biggest question will it hit the Wii or X-box 360?
IE8 for devs – Michael Kordahi; One of Microsoft's best web evangelists presented an excellent and swear free session on the new features in IE8 that take hardly any effort to implement but majorly improve usability and enhanced user experience to your site.
Building standards based ASP.NET websites – MVP's Damian Edwards and Tatham Oddie delivered an excellent and information session on the problems and fixes with ASP.NET web forms and how to ensure your nightly builds are standards compliant and accessible eveytime. This is worth a review for all ASP.NET devs new or old alike...
Lastly the almight Surface – Microsoft's Shane Morris and Amensia Razorfish's Iain McDonald demoed and talked at length about the next generation interface – Microsoft Surface, and introduced the Razorfish Lonely planet proof of concept.
Videos will be online @ http://www.microsoft.com/australia/remix/ mid-next week (approx 17th June) so check them out when you can..
