Microsoft Buggy Studio 2008

Microsoft Visual Studio is a really buggy IDE for ASP.NET development and it gets annoying at some point. A co-worker at the office has dubbed it 'Microsoft Buggy Studio'. I've seriously thought about switching to Java development where we have the likes of NetBeans and Borland JBuilder. What keeps me from doing that? Getting a job as a Java developer is a mission impossible in a city where pretty much all software development is based on Microsoft .NET or uses something like Oracle Forms.

Gravatar Wouldn't it be more constructive emailing Microsoft about these bugs/issues so they can fix it for future versions, rather than posts like this. I have only done so much ASP.NET development in visual studio 2008 but so far so good. It would be interesting if you came up with a list of the issues. 6/23/2008 8:39 AM | Paul

Gravatar i never liked JBuilder and I worked for some time for Borland. (VS 2008 properly configured with R# and other addins is just fine IMHO).

Eclipse on the other hand is a delight...
