Windows 7 available for MSDN Subscribers

I’m late to the party… it was out from yesterday, and I forgot about it.

A colleague reminded me of it before I went home – so I immediately went to MSDN Subscribers area and started the download.  I decided to get both 32-bit & 64-bit flavors (since I can queue the download), and left it to run overnight.

This morning, the 32-bit version was downloaded, but the 64-bit one is still chugging along; at 20 KB/s.  Yup… so slow…

However, just the act of suspending & resuming the download bumps the speed up to about 80-90 KB/s.  So just a tip there.

On another note, instead of going thru the MSDN Subscribers Download, I went to the Top Downloads link, which uses Akamai servers and was getting over 400 KB/s.  So on another computer I started downloading the Ultimate version, so I can play around with it later on.

I’ll be spending some install time tonight…
