I missed out on patterns at Uni, they were just starting to take off in a big way in the land of OO and so we wasted our time learning about formal specification languages and the like. Anyway, I came across a great book that explains design patterns and WHY they are can be useful. I always found pattern books do a great (if dull) job of explaining the pattern, but struggle explaining just why you should use them. But this book - Head First Design Patterns, is LOADS better. Thanks to Microsoft, I was on a 3-day ASP.NET 2.0 course just before Christmas. Microsoft had a limited number of places on the 100% funded course, which was nice :) Anyway, I discovered 4 things of blog-worth note at the course, and they are: That there's something called ANTHEM.NET for using ajax in .NET, which “looks” better that Microsoft's ATLAS efforts, although I am going off hearsay there. http://sourceforge.net/proj...
