Well Folks, its the Day After The Night Before.
My Best Friend, a man who could have been my big brother if I had one which I don't, made his vows and joined with his bride last night.
Here's a pic of the bridal party & groom & bride's parents for your pleasure:

I have to say that it was an honour and a priviledge to stand for him and his bride on the day of their wedding. They are both true friends and I wish them nothing but true happiness in this life and in the next.
It was a beautiful ceremony. The Reverand said it was the most authentic traditional Scottish wedding he's ever precided over. Which was exactly what my buddy was going for. There were many a time during the last year's planning process when he would say.."That's not period". It became a running joke with me and the bride. Whenever we'd talk about something that we thought would be cool for the wedding which wasn't period...we'd joke about it. I have to say poking a little fun at his zest for authenticity helped keep the Bride's head screwed on tight, instead of COMPLETELY losing her mind.
The reception was a blast too. They had a great celtic rock band called Gael Warning which my Mom compared to Seven Nations if you've seen them. Which they reported was a grand compliment. The food was fantastic. I feel like I may never eat again. =)
I have to say it was a tad chilly to be without a cloak (WHICH I LEFT AT HOME DUH!!!!!!!!!!!) But I do have one and I WILL be wearing this dress for ren fair next year. WOOT!!
I think its much better than what I currently use for garb:

BTW--The Whole World, Mom (She's in the middle). Mom, the Whole World
The Whole World, Hubby (on the right). Hubby, the Whole World.
My Mom wants to get a dress made by the same person who made the bride's dress. So we're gonna work on that. However, if she does, we're gonna have to take two cars b/c I could barely cram my dress in the front passenger seat of my Saturn. I had to be "smashed" into the car for the trip to the ceremony & back to the hotel. And if Mom gets Elnara to make her a dress too there will be no fitting us into the same car. =) Which I guess is not a bad thing.
