Game Review--Hubby came home with a new game for the X360 last week. And while I'm sure you guys are going APE over Halo 3, I thought I might share a review of a game other than Halo 3.
This game is called "Eternal Sonata" and it is essentially takes place in the dream world of Frederic Chopin as he lies on his death bed. (yeah sorta that Matrix thing right, realty versus dream vs reality ya dig?)
It is an amazingly beautiful game. And needless to say on the new 50 inch plasma HD TV it looks FRICKIN' AWESOME!!!! The fighting system is very similar to Final Fantasy with a couple of twists:
1--You have the ability to move around the fighting arena while in combat. This is important b/c depending on whether you're standing in the light or in shadow your special attacks change. (good vs evil anyone?)
2--You have a real time "action timer" which will run out if you don't do something immediately. What i have noticed is that as you get better in the game, the behavior of this bar changes. At first, you can move and think about what you want to do and the bar doesn't count down. After you get a littl e better in the game, the second you move, the bar starts counting down...So you gotta pay attention.
3--Just like your powers are dictated by the light/dark regions of the fight space, so to are your enemies. They have different powers in the light/dark regions and in some cases shapeshift into other forms. Some of those forms are easier to fight and some are not. Keeps you on your toes, wot!
I'm not very far into the game yet but I can say its beautiful and quite engaging. Not to mention exposes you to some of Chopin's great piano music. Hopefully the game stays as engaging as it is atm.
In case I've never mentioned it, I am a HUGE Family Guy fan. I love that show. Well last night was the season premiere for the new season on Fox. And last night, the guys at Family Guy decided to do a send up of Star Wars Ep 4. It was FRICKIN' HILARIOUS! If you've seen the Robot Chicken StarWars special, it was funny like that. I'm hoping they repeat this show on Adult Swim b/c it is SO worth it. There were some SERIOUSLY laugh out loud funny moments in the show.
I was able to find the "trailer" for it on YouTube. Its got some of the laughs but the whole show was TONS better. Hopefully it will be on again, b/c I didn't get to DVR it (bleh).
Anyway....enjoy!
