When I started this blog, I started it for myself really. In my youth, I was an avid journal writer but as I've grown up gotten responsibilities and what not, the pen&paper journal sorta lost its luster. And being a died in the wool, certified Geek, the idea of a web journal certainly had its appeal.
Now that I've been doing this for a couple of months I've found that not only do I love this thing but for the first time, the BLOG has benefited me in a way I couldn't have possibly imagined.
The framework of this BLOG allows people to email me without leaving a comment on any one post. Yesterday I came home and found that someone who I was great friends with my freshman year of high school ~17 years ago, had found my blog and reached out to say Hi!
Talk about cool. I won't use her name here b/c I don't have permission but she was one of the most fascinating people I've ever encountered and its cool that she found me. (waves to her if she's watching)
I'm hoping that perhaps this may be the start of a re-reacquainted with her. We'll just have to see.
But it just goes to show, you never know who's listening/reading/watching out there on the great expanse of the 'Net.
