If you've been following my blog, you know I'm a QA proffessional currently focused in the QA field of automated testing.
So I thought I'd share something my first QA mentor shared with me when I had "One of Those Days"
When you've had one of those days at your QA job where you just want to tell your boss to take this job and shove it, there is a simple way to make yourself feel so much better.
On your way home from work, stop by at your local Pharmacy (Walgreens/CVS/Eckerds). Purchase a Johnson&Johnson rectal thermometer. The brand is important here.
When you get home, draw the curtains, turn down the blinds and go into your bedroom. Turn down the lights so you have nice soft "unstressful" lighting in your room.
Change into your most comfortable sweats or pajamas and lie down on the bed with the rectal thermometer package.
Open the packaging and carefully set the glass thermometer on your nightstand.
Carefully unfold the paper literature insert and read the entire pamphlet, paying particular attention the following statement:
"“Every Rectal Thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson is personally tested for Quality Assurance"
Now, say to yourself outloud--I am SO glad I don't work for Johnson & Johnson.
Just remember all you Geeks out in the Geekdom, there are some jobs that are a bigger pain in the ass than your own.
<Very happy she doesn't work for Johnson&Johnson>
