Ok so one of the other things about me that is geekish is my affection for video games.
My most recent long-standing obsession has been World of WarCraft, the latest in a long line of MMORPGs I've played over the years.
And I have a rant about WoW to share with ya. For frame of reference understand that 90% of my toons are Horde. This is important for my rant.

My primary character(Druid) in WoW is at the max level of 70. I worked hard to get to that point and had a blast while doing it. So last night, I decided to spread the 70 love by helping some lower level toons with quests in the Hinterlands. Now that means I'm helping high level 40s toons wage war against lvl 48-51 Elite (extra tough) mobs. Which for a lvl 70 like me its effectively a cake walk unless we get trained or TOTALLY overrun by mobs.
So we're slogging our way through the temple in Jin'TaThalor to get up to this Quest mob and we get to the quest point and there is a lvl 70 Alliance Druid killing the quest mob my lowbie friends need to complete their quest. Now this means we have to wait until the guy spawns again for these lowbies to keep moving forward.
So we wait...and the lvl 70 Alliance(Ally) Druid waits too. The Quest mob spawns..and the lvl 70 Ally Druid kills him again. Now I'm starting to get mighty annoyed. B/C First off--This nitwit isn't getting any experience for killing this guy and Second--He's getting no honor points for it either. So essentially he's just being a jerk because he's a lvl 70 and can kill this guy with no trouble.
Here's the key point of this exchange--Killing this quest mob, flags this Ally Druid for PVP. Which means, I can kill him now. So, I buff myself with all my key enhancement buffs--And proceed to nuke this guy into the stone age.
He tries to fight back and I just pwn his elven butt into the nearest graveyard.
Now I tell the lowbies with me, don't buff me b/c they would get flagged too. And they get flagged this lvl 70 is going to chew them to pieces. So they stand back and we wait for this guy to come get his body. Next thing I know, he's in cat form trying to inact some sort of revenge.
So, I pop Nature's Grasp which roots him. I walk away, and pop my Treant friends to join the fray and proceed to nuke him into the stone age again. Sending him once again to the nearest graveyard.
Now my rant in all of this is WHY THE (&%$*(&(#$&(#*$&( should this guy be doing this? I mean he's just being a jerk to the lower level toons who A--have no chance of defeating him toe to toe and B--have no chance of completing their quest as long as he keeps doing this.
Afte two pwn'd deaths he decides to back off and leave the mob alone...but not before trying to bring the whole area down on me and my two lowbie friends. But to no avail, b/c I was able to keep them alive and defend off the onslaught.
Needless to say, don't mess with this Tauren or you'll get the horns! (for those that don't know the Tauren are minotaurs)
