Every once in a while, I am fortunate enough to find poetry in reality. Its a rare occurence but it does happen. And when it does, you just have to share it.
The most recent version of this occurred while I was visiting my parents in Wilmington, NC. The developers down there just built a brand new shopping center. Its called Mayfaire Town Centre and its basically an outdoor mall. My parents and I went there to go to one of their favorite lunch spots The Artisan Cafe. While we were eating lunch, my Dad started laughing. Now he is known to do this for no apparent reason so his laughter wasn't that surprising. The source however turned out to be quite surprising. I said Dad..what is so funny and he points to the street sign outside the restaurant. This restaurant is on the corner of one of the streets in Mayfaire. So I looked up and started to laugh too. Here's what I saw:
Now having your inspiration intersected by your destiny really isn't that funny. What made this moment particularly poetic and amusing is that Inspiration Drive dead-ends into Destiny Way. This sounds like an old blues tune. I couldn't help but think immediately I need a picture of this and I wanna blog about it.
So here it is. This is not a fake photo..If you live in Wilmington, NC you can go see this intersection for yourself. This is real..I swear.
So---Has anyone else had their Inspiration cut off by Desiny? I know I have.
