I own a Creative Zen Vision: M. And I love it. OR...should I say I did love it until yesterday.
For some reason, which I have yet to determine, when I link my Zen to my PC, my machine tries to reinstall the drivers including an "MTP device".
AND FOR SOME #$#%$%^$ REASON--Its giving me an error I have yet to find a solution to. When the install attempt is complete, Windows responds with:
"There was a problem installing this hardware:
Creative Zen Vision: M
An error occurred during the installation of this device.
A service installation section in this INF is invalid."
Now I have been ALL over the net trying to find a solution to this problem. I've removed the infs and replaced them with known to work versions and tried to reinstall. I have uninstalled ALL of my creative software...I've done a "get this thing to work" dance outside in the moonlight.
I am at a total loss. The only suggestion that I found that I haven't done yet is "format c:, reinstall windows, etc"
I REALLY don't want to have to go through that pain but..its starting to look like I am going to have to. BOOOOO
<sigh> Here's to two days of getting my machine back on its feet again so I can sync music to my player. <GRRRRRR>
If anyone out there in Geekdom, has a solution that doesn't require a format of my hard drive. Please post a response here.
