About Me:
I am a Female SharePoint Developer (a platinum unicorn). I have been working with SharePoint since I attended the Portal University in 2005. I hold a BA in Computer Science from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. I love playing Rockband, organizing user group meetings, working with code, attending events as a speaker or organizer, and having bizarre conversations about geek things with cool people. If you have any comments or questions fill out the contact form and I will try my best to help.

The Guide of a MOSSLover Becky Isserman's Blog

I know I’ve been AWOL for over a month.  It’s partially depression, partially sickness, and partially work related.  I had insanity going on with various things in my life that I’m working on right now (like going outside when daylight happens).  I’m trying to get back on track and everything in order.

I will say I finally got to work with 2013 for real and the UPS stuff is really similar to 2010 unfortunately when working with two way sync.  The old method from 2007 works pretty easy and well too if you don’t want to do a two way sync.  I have noticed that a lot of the controls are just as broken as they were in 2010.  I am a little sad that the threat to get rid of on premise is possible.  There is a lot of broken api pieces that I’ve seen in 2007 that still exist in 2013.  I am a little saddened that none of this stuff has been fixed.  I’m not really going to spell the issues out, because if you’ve been using the product you know exactly what I am talking about in this post.  I am not here to write another SharePoint rant post.

I am here to prove that I am alive and kicking.  You might see me more at events or at least outside.  I want to return to user groups and meetups.  I want to get out of the funk that I’ve been in for a bit.  I came back from PAX with a series of illnesses that rolled into this whole working crazy hours thing.  So soon you should me out and about around the city user groups, but not so much in June.  I am going to TechEd and helping out with the hands on labs.  If anyone wants to come by the SharePoint section to say hi I should be around.  I will also be talking on iOS Development in SharePoint 2013 at SPS DC.  Beyond that I am going back to St. Louis for a week to work at my best friend’s house.  If anyone in St. Louis wants to see me let me know, but I’m not sure I will have much time for community members.

Once I get back from my big St. Louis trip, then I am going to run in the color run and SPS NYC will roll around.  So I guess I’m not stating that I will be posting more.  I just wanted you guys to know why I wont be posting.  I have made an active priority to put my friends and family first plus do stuff outside of work and the SharePoint Community.  I want to put myself back on track after the past few insane months.  If you don’t see love on this blog, then it’s because I did that at this point in my life.  You have to realize the past 8 years were great, but the past year has been even better.  I will be around and I will post about what I’m doing, but you might not see as many here’s what I’m doing in SharePoint posts.  Like I said before I’m around just not as much as I have been in the past.  Until next time guys.  It might be a few months, but if you check on twitter you know I’m not dead.
