SharePoint Conference–Speaker/Booth-Panel Person

So two years ago I had the privilege of attending my first ever Microsoft Conference in 2009. It was pretty neat, because I got to meet a lot of great people and go to a lot of awesome session. This time around, however, it’s my third Microsoft Conference and a little different. 1 Year Ago Today…

I suppose it’s one year and a bit of a day now, but anyway…One year ago today I started at Planet Technologies. I landed in Las Vegas on Monday, September 13th, 2010 and showed up to the Holiday Inn on Rainbow Blvd. They had two boxes for me, one cell and one laptop, it was kind of like being on a mission for some super secret organization. A day later I showed up to the client site and assessed the situation. I was not sure if this job was the job for me yet. I had good recommendations via email ......

Women in Tech: I am my Own Worst Enemy

Rachel Appel suggested a really great book to me the other day “Knowing Your Value: Women, Money, and Getting What Your Worth” by Mika Brzezinski. I have spent a couple hours reading about 3 chapters and it makes a lot of sense. This book talks about how salary negotiations rarely happen with women in general and that most women don’t know there worth. Everything she does I find that I do myself by undermining my own value. I was wondering if there were others like me out there who devalue themselves ......
