Knowledge Base Template Error

We created a test farm with SP1 for WSS 3.0 and MOSS.  We added our content database from Production by importing the backup files and recreated the application.  When I tried to install the 20 WSP Templates for the Fantastic 40 I find out the solution packages are not installing properly.  I haven't tried to install these templates after installing SP1, because the old farm they were installed prior to SP1 existing.  Does anyone know why the solution package would only install half of the features for the templates?

***Update***

After about 5 retracts and installs the Knowledge Base Template finally worked.  Honestly, I will never know why it did or didn't install half the features the first four tries...I am getting a little irritated with WSP Solution Packages, but will get over myself in a few days...

Gravatar Are you able to export that site and import to a new enviroment? I cannot because of GUID errors.

Gravatar I actually got them all to install. I noticed on this farm the timer jobs are acting a little lagged. What I had to do is delete the solution several minutes after getting ride of the feature and retracting the solution. It also had an issue after re-deploying the solution, so I had to activate the feature several minutes after. I can't even get any of the VSEWSS1.1 templates or 1.0 templates to deploy a solution. I tried creating a "Hello World" Web part for a test and it had all kinds of GUID issues. I think it has something to do with deploying on a farm as opposed to just a single application/query/index server.

Gravatar The KB template has been flawed from day one. Even on pre SP1 farms (e.g. my farm) the event viewer fills up with "Object not set to an instance of an object". I'm very, very, opposed to deploying any templates that MS made. I think they are nothing but trouble moving forward.
