I am pleased to announce the first Community Technology Preview [CTP] release of Gepsio, an open-source XBRL document object model for .NET. The release includes a ready-to-use .NET 3.5 assembly called JeffFerguson.Gepsio.dll as well as a User's Guide. C# source code is available for those who are interested. Though the source to Gepsio is written in C#, the assembly itself can be used with any language that supports .NET 3.5. Your Gepsio client code can be written in C#, VB.NET, C++/CLI, F# or any other .NET language.

To get the latest release, go to http://gepsio.codeplex.com. Go to the "Downloads" link on the right side of the home page and you will be taken to the release page for the Jan 2009 CTP. From there, you will see links to download both the DLL and the User's Guide.

Feedback, both good and bad, are welcome. The User's Guide contains information on how to leave feedback on the site.

Many more CTPs are coming (I am tentatively planning on a new CTP every month), but I want to get this early release out in the community to solicit feedback in the spirit of an Agile development methodology.

Enjoy this CTP!

Dear Jeff,
I just dived into XBRL and wondered if you think your release of Gepsio is still up to date to the latest developments in the world of XBRL? Or are you still interested ;-)
Best regards
Brian

Absolutely! I am still working on Gepsio and am currently adding initial support for XBRL Dimensions. I hope to have a new code drop ready for Jul 2010.
