Every time recession hits market we start seeing so many people loosing jobs. This happens across business domains. Every single person; from a clerk to the CEO, everyone know that such rough phase is going to come periodically irrespective of what business they are in. What kind of planning is done by the leaders (CEOs, VPs, …) to handle those situations? I see very less enterprise globally who manage their good-bad phase without (or minimal) people layoff. Who is to blame for this? Let me ask another...

Financial Institutions and other business domains should leverage technology for their cost cutting. Most Financial Institutions have been very slow in upgrading themselves with new technologies. Obviously they cannot do frequent upgrades BUT all of them should regularly review their existing systems to identify areas where technology can help them in cost reduction. SWIFT decided to move to XML standards in year 1999. Since then, we have been hearing about MX standards (XML based). In all SWIFT presentations I have seen so far, I always hear about MX messages. SWIFT also maintains and releases MX standards every year. I always get a message that SWIFT will finally be moving everything to MX, but I never get a concrete end-date! Yes, we should not move to new technology/approach for the sake of changing! But here, I clearly see a case for moving towards XML based...
