SQL Server 2008 Remote Access

Monday, June 14, 2010 5:25 PM

I've spent what seems like weeks attempting to set up remote access for SQL Server 2008. Up to recently my database access was alway against a local instance but I now have two servers and I want to work from my local machine using databases on my remote server. I finally got it working. If you need to know how I've done a big page at:

Check it out and let me know if you have any suggestions or questions.

Hello there and thanks a lot for sharing this useful information. Im new in remote connections.
I got sql server management studio 2008 and an application developed in vb6. It has two modules. lets say one for capturing data and other one for viewing the generated data. Each one in different places. I will try the information you gave us. But, ¿Is there any advise to take care in my case? Thanks again in advance.
